…And enjoy your journey through my website, RennyJ.com, where you’ll find the Real Music! Most all of the music by Renny J is recorded using real instruments, and as a bass guitar player predominantly, Renny J plays most of them!
Renny J’s goal is to provide quality music to those who not only love music, but live by it. There are people that can hardly function without listening to music throughout their daily lives, and Renny J attempts to make that aspect of life enjoyable and relaxing.
All the music you hear seems to have a genre of its own, and many of Renny J’s music has been featured in film (short, Television & big screen), video/DVD (direct to video, instructionals), and various Radio Stations throughout the country & Europe (i.e., “The Michael Baisden Show“, “The Treazy Radio Show” out of Brooklyn, etc.), and has even been nominated for two (2) Music Awards (”Why’d You Have To Go“, Best R & B, and “Lindsay Park“, Best Blues). Be sure to check out the Music Page and listen to the music there by clicking the song itself. Some of these songs will make you wanna get on your feet and start moving, and others will take you back many years when music was music and cause you to relax in pleasant memories. A Little Background…
Renny J has been playing bass guitar for over 32 years, and has played & recorded with artists such as Parliament, Donna Summer, Wrecks N Effect, Debra Laws, Toni Braxton, Tony Chauncey (Tony C.), Billy Ocean, as well as having played in bands such as Full Dose, Majesty, J.A.A.M. Kwest, Tiger Avenue Band, KANVAZ, and Once Written. With such a phenomenal music legacy (his dad played with Quincy Jones & Motown, and his grandfather played with Count Basie, Nat King Cole, and many others), it’s no wonder that Renny J has the musical skills and the wherewithal to rise to the top as he appears to be doing now!
Renny J has worked with Singer/Songwriter/Poetress, Nisha Reece. These 2 came up quickly with a collaboration called “I Know It’s Over Now”, that seemed to be just what people were looking to hear in real music! Nisha Reece has one other pending collaboration called “Daddy Never”, so look out for that real soon! There’s also Myah!, coming up with collaborations that were incredibly “Radio Friendly”. Some of the collaborated music by these 2 (also produced by Renny J & Tony C.) are “Erase Me” & “The Moment I Met You“. Producers Renny J, Wayne G & Tony C. (his partners in music!) are also working with incredible new artists all the time, and one of the most newly discovered artist is M.C. Sparks, out of Maryland. “Sparks” is a transitional rapper that’s smooth with his vocals & can also croon as well. Check his style out on the songs, “The Gurlz Keep Rockin” & “Love Jonez“, and you’ll hear for yourself the smooth & decadent style of this upcoming Rap Artist! Another Rap Artist to come out is Topyq, so be sure to listen to the many music pieces him & Renny J have collaborated on! Keep your eye out for him real soon! There’s also Jeramiah L., also an incredible writer & producer in his own right. Renny J & Jeramiah currently have 2 collaborations, “Break Away” & “On My Own”… and what an incredible voice he’s got!! Just think of Rob Thomas!.
Renny J has had the opportunity to work with such major artists such as Lonestar, Patty Smyth & Scandal, Jefferson Starship, Survivor, Toni Braxton, Joe, Wreckx N-Effect & Donna Summer. Renny J was even asked by one of these artists at a major venue in Temecula to go on stage & play bass with them! More about this in detail on the Renny J’s Music News Page.
Tony C & Renny J have been working together for many years, and together, have come up with some incredible hits (check the Music Page to listen to listen to some of them now). Some of those songs are “Tite Skin“, “If I Was Your Lover (Club Mix)“, “Gotta Get Rid Of This Feeling (Club Mix)“, and many others. Both of these fascinating & incredible songwriter/producers came out of Brooklyn and for while at one time, lived in the same Lindsay Park Co ops! Almost all of these songs are currently available on entire albums which are available on iTunes, Rhapsody & Amazonmp3. Be sure to check them out!
Today…
Renny J is always working on projects with other artists and filmakers alike! Renny J has recently played with the alternative rock band Thoramay in the recent past at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, CA (Disneyland) (performance date March 30, 2011)! Check back later for the live video of that performance soon.
Renny J is also making music & collaborating with other great artists, such as Topyq, one of the top players of Hip Hop Rap out of Los Angeles… Jarecash, of the newest Hip Hop Rappers to come out of Central Cali! Jarecash has such a lyrical flow that you’ll be hypnotized every time you listen to him speak! And there’s Fredrick Collins of the R&B / Funk Band Collazz, with his Old Skool Style of Hip Hop & R&B/Neo-Soul, so stay on the lookout for these Hit Makers playing at a club venue or casino near you!
